About Wormface:
It’s nice to return to a 2D style after a few outings with a 2.5D style that in my opinion, didn’t work either in terms of looks and game feel. Things feel more responsive here, the classes are gone (as well as dynamic water) and it feels a lot closer to playing Armageddon or Reloaded… which is probably part of the problem. I can imagine Team17 feels a need to breathe new life into this franchise with each release considering how venerable it is and how much the core gameplay has remained the same over the years. To that end, Worms W.M.D introduces – in addition to the usual compliment of new and absurd weapons – drive-able vehicles as its main feature. Their presence doesn’t have too much of an impact on the gameplay, especially since other worms can hijack occupied vehicles on their turn, removing the most obvious potential issue of people turtling inside vehicles when it’s not their turn to reduce damage taken. Beyond that though, it’s very much the same Worms game you know and love, though with a very curious omission of being unable to create your own speechbanks, which hurts me as I feel the presets that are available are fairly weak compared to previous outings. Still holds up to this day as a fun game with friends. Competitive is very dead but thats expected for such a old game. Still som bugs with a few things that seem to have been there for years and updates have certainly stopped. Not worth the full price in my opinion (bought during 80% sale). And most importantly, don’t buy this game without having friends to play with as there is nearly no public lobbies.
